I became involved in this work; meditation, hypnosis, mediation, astrology & social work, as part of an evolving process where I longed to have better relationships, better health for me and my family, and a deeper connection with God and the universe.
I think we get stuck giving away responsibility for our happiness, health and spiritual well being to "experts." We grow disconnected from our bodies and abuse them by smoking, eating and drinking too much. We become disenchanted with our relationships and begin to feel isolated. We are afraid no one out there really cares about us. I know I have experienced all of these things--as a college student, as a single mother removing herself from a toxic relationship, as a mom raising kids getting the wrong solutions from doctors, being a smoker--wanting desperately to feel valuable and as though I had some control over my life.
In the ensuing 30 years since my college days I have had quite a magical journey, learning to work with universal energies in co-creating a life where I feel supported, connected and purposeful. I know it is possible to have all of those positive realtionships in your life, with your mental, physical and spiritual health, and I can teach you to develop them for yourself. It is a deep honor for me to have the opportunity to share this journey with you, utilizing the processes I have found useful, and creating new ones specifically to suit your experience.
Background
Earned master’s degree in social work in 2008 from Colorado State University.
Has been casting and interpreting astrological charts for more than 25 years and was an apt pupil of noted Chicago astrologer Doris Hebel.
Has been a practitioner of forms of guided imagery, mindfulness, visualization and hypnosis for over 12 years.
First began studying with guided imagery & meditation teacher Jackie Jackman in the Chicago area in 1996.
Utilizes training & certification in regression hypnosis from the Omega institute with noted psychiatrist and best selling author, Brian Weiss and his wife Carole, for successful treatment.
Employs treatment fundamentals in medical hypnosis and has been trained by the prestigious American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), an organization founded in 1958 by renowned psychologist Milton Erickson, through which training & membership are reserved exclusively for medical and mental health professionals.
Also specializes in mediation, with specific trainings in divorce and workplace conflict resolution, through the Institute of Advanced Dispute Resolution (IADR) and Colorado State University.
Effectively uses in treatments, and has been trainined in: EMDR for trauma, Motivational Interviewing, a brief therapy found useful in addiction issues, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for depression, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy and Community Resource Therapy.
Is a member of NASW, ASCH, IARRT, and Golden Key International Honor Society.
